I was dreaming when I wrote this so forgive me if I stray away. Brian & Autumn of Solemates Chicago launched their line Sir & Madame, and yours truly made their Madame’s list. I received a package of winter goodies–the pow beanie is my favorite. I love to see the mail man these days…
History Time:
Solemates Chicago established December 2006, is the creation of the young, husband and wife team, Brian and Autumn Merritt. The Chicago-bred couple created this nostalgic men’s and women’s clothing boutique and sneaker consignment to fill a void in street culture representation in the Windy City. Solemates…Chicago features products that enhance the lifestyle of those trendsetting, fashion-forward, city-dwellers who have an innate sense of style and individuality. Carrying the perfect mix of new and vintage finds: clothing, shoes, accessories and books, the boutique presents it in a raw, yet sleek form for customers to enjoy and indulge. Serving as the Chicago concept shop for The Brooklyn Circus-”the illest men’s boutique in Brooklyn”-Solemates…Chicago justly stamps themselves as true aficionados of “authentic” style and culture. In an industry full of followers, they are not just rising as leaders, but as innovators. For Solemates x BKC, there is no box to think outside of…
Sir & Madame sighting…
With fashion week I got a little behind on my laundry. Yes, I do my own laundry. It’s a balance–I can partake in the fashion week festivities and listen in on the neighborhood gossip at Suds and Duds the next week. I use to drop off but I figured I’d be like the locals and try doing them myself again. Plus I’ve always felt weird about another woman fondling my knickers–it’s just not right. I wanted to give the full experience and be more clever but they like to stare. I guess that’s what I’m asking for when taking photos in a laundromat.
