You Should Call Me Auntie

December 29, 2009  |  Kodak Moment

There’s always time for improve photo shoots in dark alleys of Tribeca. And after the new Brooklyn Circus varsity came in I had an excuse to crack a smile for the camera. Rodriguez Arnold Jean shot these candid photos in all of 15 minutes…

I didn’t say one word or take his camera–that was a first. I can never find someone to take control and be creative without me leaving feeling like I just shot myself. You’d be surprised what I can do with a self timer-I’m fast.

Words from RJ:

On photographers that inspire him…

“When I started photography I was a kid with a crayon trying to be Picasso, I didn’t know  if I should just color in between the lines or just be me. Until I seen the work of Guy Bourdin it hit me that no matter the art if you aren’t being you it isn’t art. His taste for controversy and stylization is something that will always be remembered, he shattered boundaries for fashion photography and I believe it is what it is now because of him. It was really a eye opener being so young there was a lot I had to open my eyes too. His work showed me the steps of me finding out my own vision, he was my lens before I truly had one. Many other photographers are my personal friends just to say one for I seen his growth as he seen mine and knew his story as he knew mine and to me that’s inspiration Cordell Murray is truly one of the greats.”

On his style…

“My style is Guy Bourdin meets Jack Nicholson it’s As Good as It Gets.”

On the shoot…

“This shoot to me was truly Andy Warhol meets Marylin Monroe, In the sense we both are at that point of our lives where nothing is limitless we our the new culture our younger brothers and sisters will soon grow to love. Sham is a best friend, an open canvas, and, one to admire. Her and I being friends for so long I could always just talk to her about anything during the shoot she left me to show my vision and I have to thank her for that. It’s rarely you met individuals like her which is a reminder that I’m on the right way of becoming what I will soon become. Thank You.”

I have witnessed that clever real estate agents almost everywhere are getting set to FSBO Advertising. They are seeing that it’s more than simply placing a poster in the front property. It’s really about building human relationships with these retailers who someday will become consumers. So, when you give your time and efforts to aiding these sellers go it alone — the “Law associated with Reciprocity” kicks in. Interesting blog post.
