2:06am–The day started off with me walking into my 9am class late, my classmate Ezekiel said out loud “see you came in late and you missed the extra credit“, I replied, ” I am the extra credit“–and that set the syllabus for the rest of my day….

I push work: IFG-Media is seeking models + DESIGNERS for a fashion shoot for our February issue. An open model call will be held Thursday January 21st at 6pm until 9pm and Friday January 22nd from 2pm until 4pm. The IFG office is located at 1776 Peachtree St. on the 6th floor. Height requirements are 5’ l0” to 6 ft. for females and 5’11” to 6’ 2” for males. Models should keep face fresh and clothing form fitting and basic. Bring comp cards and portfolios. Designers bring physical pieces from your collection for reviewing. Shooting will begin Friday January 22 at 6 PM. Now back to my other job: a student.
Very few outsiders get a glimpse into a classroom at Morehouse College, we keep House business to ourselves for the most part. We’re the Black Harvard and we strive to maintain our impeccable rep. My advisor asked me if I was going to Harvard for grad school–no no, I think I’ll sit that one out. My days are already so unpredictable; I carry around a peanut butter and sugar-free cherry jelly sandwich on some Pepperidge Farm Very Thin slices to stay in the game. Oh the simple things that tickle my fancy. After leaving my first 9-5–literally, I headed to the office and went over the cover with iCON for the first issue.
And then, the call comes in. I had two comp tickets to see Mariah Carey in concert that night.
Ofcourse we had to, and we did. Oh Mariah–changed into nothing but full sequin gowns all night—black, silver-long-short–you name it—she wore it with a faux fur wrap. That exit sign never looked so good as we beat the drunken crowd out the door. Well I’m off to bed, I have class-work-and show face at this VIP reception affair for Martin Luther King event later today; pose for the school press & goodnight.
