Honesty Tour

September 6, 2010  |  Giveaways

This is to all the college kids with no scholarship starting new semesters. I already give the deuces to all my professors. Here’s an afternoon snack from Aunty Shammy–Road to Better Skin: Essentials Without Breaking the Piggy Bank…

Water Intake: The water consumption for a healthy body is 8 cups a day. For better skin make that 90 percent of what you drink.

I drink water, green tea (sometimes chi with a tad milk) and orange juice. Period.

Water: skin and health
Green tea: increases your metabolism
Orange juice: source of vitamin C and boosts the immune system.
Milk does the body good.

Water Usage: I begin my face wash with the water as hot as I can, three 3 splashes to the face. Then to open pores run hot water into your sink until steamy, and let fill the bowl. Cover your head with a towel to trap the steam and place your face over the sink. After a minute of soaking up the steam, pores should open enough to loosen the dirt and blackheads that have clogged your skin.

[*Fact: Oily skin requires more cleaning than dry skin to open the pores clogged with dirt and oil in oily skin types.] source

Apply face wash of your choice. Personally, I exfoliate daily with Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Scrub.

Remember gently massage your face and neck–do not sand paper rub it, Its your face so be nice. Also, the neck is a sensitive area of skin therefore you should use the same wash for your face on your neck.

Last: I’m a splasher. No rag. Splash face 3 times with cold to end the wash. And yes I do only 3 times EVERY morning, for as long as I can remember. I love consistency when it comes to numbers.

Pat your face dry. I never rub, remember be nice.

Then for moisture I use Vitamin E oil (fun fact: Vitamin E is a helpful healer when it comes to scars and stretch marks. However, it is even more effective when paired with regular exfoliation.) source You will be putting the vitamin E on newer, more responsive skin rather than layering it onto dead, less responsive skin. (A dab will do ya)

I also use this before applying make-up and/or before bed

For the Overachievers:

Anti-winkle cream

I’ve used anti-winklecream since I was about 10. Found it in my Mother’s bathroom along with this cucumber/kiwi mask but that’s another story. Start using it better you need it.

My theory: Nothing is magic. Anti-wrinkle cream prevents not removes. You’ll need a Dr. for that

I love this Sham, greatly appreciated. I use Vitamin E oil for my cuticles and I feel like it has a thick consistency and I fear it my clog my pores. I love that it fades scars but Im a bit hesitant on putting it on my entire face. I’ll give it a shot because your skin is note worthy (:

Is it bad that I’m headed to the bathroom now because my face feels filthy after reading this?
