10 Best Dressed Homme Series: #2 Nick Wooster

July 28, 2011  |  Creative Curators, Editor's Picks, Street Style, Towering Intellectual Class, Where Are The Clothes

The bad ass of men’s fashion–simply put. Light a match one by one fellas–but I won’t kill this post with any refrence to swagu, but you ask Nick who? Nick Wooster–(former) Men’s Fashion Director for Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman, and just recently Gilt MAN appointed Wooster as Fashion Advisor. And I think to myself: if we could take fashion shots I’d buy you all a round–calling him the most dapper man in fashion right now would be short of his throne. With a gallant style that maintains the perfect balance between being kempt and rugged–the tattoos and collection of high cuffed suits. Aficionado is not the word–style domineer is what makes Nick Wooster #2 of 10 Best Dressed Homme Series.

LB Nocturnal Hours: Thirty Years Young Celebration

July 26, 2011  |  After Hour Spots, Chef's Table, Creative Experience, Kodak Moment, The Traveling Sky Club, Towering Intellectual Class

Nothing draws a crowd like a crowd. Don’t let the funk pass you by. I don’t drive anymore, I’m just holding my i.d.–the passenger stallion. Young people are lost these days but the older ones dig me. They can’t clock my accent, I’m not attached to one city. It’s funny how Chardonnay can make our differences differ. We threw a party, yeah, we threw a party. People came over, yeah, we threw a party. Cheers to more than t-shirt time on Fridays nights. Wearing clothes is an overrated experience when you’re close to the beach. I’m just a girl, small bikinis are all I need on the ‘zero zero zero comma zero after zero’ quest to bring funds for my needs. We took the floor before the night was over. Not bad huh, for some southern kids? I may not have gone where I internded to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be. –>Inside Story

10 Best Dressed Homme Series: #3 Scott Disick

July 24, 2011  |  Editor's Picks, Leadership & Heroic Flutes, Street Style, Towering Intellectual Class, Where Are The Clothes

And I must voice my opinion–fan. This is less for them, and more for me. Ah, you’re so perfect. Scott Disick, best known for being Kourtney Kardashian‘s domestic partner, graced television screens in a family drama in which I paid no attention to–I only watched Keeping Up With Scott’s Style for Scott ( Kourtney & Kim being equally as fashionable) everything else was trivial. Looking like a character from The Great Gatsby, this man has #style and it’s a debate that I will politely decline arguing. Snatched suits, whipped hair, nasty wrist wear and cars that remain foreign–I don’t know what he does for a living, nor does it interest me. Just keep giving me rich man grandeur looks and I will continue to rally. Scott Disick is #3 of 10 Best Dressed Homme Series.

10 Best Dressed Homme Series: #5 Glenn O’Brien

July 17, 2011  |  Creative Curators, Editor's Picks, Street Style, Towering Intellectual Class, Where Are The Clothes

History always presents itself in a fashion where everyone was once famous. The Warhol decade was full of decadence; style and art–all housed in one factory. Let’s sit down for the Glenn O’Brien style report. Gleaming style even in the paste tense, O’Brien was a member of Andy Warhol’s Factory; he was a music critic for the Andy Warhol publication Interview, with the column “Glenn O’Brien’s Beat“. He’s currently-primarily a writer, largely on the subjects of art, music and fashion. A Shiny Top Floor Bar In The Sky-W Hotel Whiskey Park

July 12, 2011  |  After Hour Spots, Creative Experience, Editor's Picks, Model Friday, Towering Intellectual Class

Atlanta is just such a casual city. Elegance meets sexy at Whiskey Park, a glamorous bar and lounge located on the 3rd floor of the W Hotel Midtown where guests go to see and be seen. Whiskey Park features three distinct rooms and an outdoor terrace. With dramatic, oversized chandeliers and a rich botanical atmosphere on its outdoor terrace, Whiskey Park fuses a touch of rock and roll with lots of glam and a dose of allure. Guests can lounge on plush couches in the Crystal Lounge or on comfortable bar stools in the Gallery Bar, as they enjoy specialty cocktails and small bites and tune-in to special guest DJ’s.

CIA-looking characters guard velvet ropes while a glam-tastic mirror angles above the bar giving drinkers a chance to scope talent without staring. We may be ambitious, fairytale dreaming, pretentious and unpretentious looking 20 somethings, but the clientele is an interesting mix–expense account-holding businessmen mingle among dolled-up girls hoping for a Marquis Phifer sighting. –>Inside Story

#Heineken Red Star Access x G.O.O.D. Music Tour-Atlanta

July 12, 2011  |  After Hour Spots, Creative Experience, Editor's Picks, Invested Listener, Towering Intellectual Class

#Heineken and Kanye West presents Heineken Red Star Access Tour–a G.O.O.D. Music Summer Tour Series; one of the best traveling tours being governed by #Heineken as they present an intimate showcase to a invitation-only crowd, taking place in venues around the country featuring G.O.O.D. Music artist. The tour series kicked off June 9th in New York City with a free exclusive Kanye West performance. Be advised that information on the event including location, time and participating artists are kept tight, so being one of the influentials is key–player.

The tour made it’s stop in Atlanta, and both Pusha T and CyHi Da Prynce gave the gang green crowd a show. Ofcourse, in true Phifer etiquette, my pictures, weird faces, and clean tailored look are now available for surfacing. Plus performance video as you get in! –>Inside Story

The Great Adventures of Phifer (Rap Stories) Download

July 10, 2011  |  Complied and Catalogued Music, Editor's Picks, Leadership & Heroic Flutes, Musicology, Towering Intellectual Class

LateBoots presents a downloadable rap battle titled The Great Adventures of Phifer (Rap Stories), also known as real Hip Hop. This is the true definition: Hip Hop is a movement, a culture, as well as a genre of music. Real music for your mind. Poetry put to beats. Floetry. Not about money. Typically classified by hip hop “heads” as: hip hop that has social awareness or meaning in it’s lyrics.

There is no “real” or “fake” rap/hip hop music, it’s all part of the culture. This “gettin money” phase that hip hop is in is simply a part of the 30+ year movement that has finally taken the spotlight. 15 years ago, the “gangsta” side of the culture held the spotlight. Who knows what is next. Since current hip hop has mixed with pop music, this side of the culture many feel it is the faux side. The thing is though, you do not have to listen to this type of music, if you prefer old school rap for example, simply listen to The Great Adventures of Phifer (Rap Stories).
