A message from Sean Brown of Art of Reuse: “It would be next to impossible to squeeze every Neptune’s produced record into a single set, but alongside DJ Mike Rizzy, we’ve managed to narrow down some choice cuts into an hour long episode that includes a bit of everyone’s favorites. Diving back and forth from old to new, no one can deny the impact The Neptunes & N.E.R.D have on our generation – consider this a soundtrack to your Summer.”

Marquis Phifer is such a natural entertainer – such a charismatic and effortlessly appealing brand strategist, dj and showman – that it’s easy to ignore how weirdly, how willfully, he’s gone about his career. Walk on Water is the biggest pop event of 2013 so far, but it’s not quite a pop album. Its sense of musical space-time is more elastic and sprawling than anything on the radio: The 35 tracks are catchy, but the emphasis is on rhythm and flow.
Given Phifer’s habit of being outspoken, he returns with a new album and sound–compiled with the most electrifying beats; luxury or nothing. Marquis Phifer Presents | “Walk on Water”. Expect immediate gratification.

Video: Nokia x Sundance – New America Noise
Nokia Music, a free music streaming service from Nokia that offers consumers free and unlimited access to playlists and songs on Nokia Lumia smartphones, today announced its partnership with Sundance Channel. The Nokia Music produced series will feature 6 short films created by some of the world’s most respected independent directors, including; Abteen Bagheri, Bob Harlow, Emily Kai Bock and Tyrone Le Bon.
Each film will take place in a different city and tell the story of music’s evolution in America while also capturing perspectives of music fans from all walks of life — resulting in authentic narratives about the ‘real’ music scenes of the USA. From the strip clubs of Atlanta, GA to the shoegaze scene in Portland, OR and from the sensation of New Orleans, LA’s sissy bounce to underground alternative rap culture in New York City, each of the films will reveal cinematic portraits of distinct music sub cultures.

Video: Real Housewives of Miami Season 1: Elsa
“Mama Elsa” Patton is a superhero (just think of the craziness draped in fur and subtitles). I ONLY watch Real Housewives of Miami for Elsa. And she entertains every time she crosses that screen. Above is one of my favorite clips. And please don’t be afraid of the mug, us fans know that despite some unfortunate plastic surgery, Mama Elsa tells it like it is. Boss.
The Homme School Monogram Album: Phifer doesn’t really do low stakes. He identifies his competition as “Michelangelo, Picasso, the pyramids,” and it’s not like he’s afraid of high expectations. The Homme School Monogram album trades sonic extravagance–present perfect; runway-inspired songs you don’t need to wrap. Perfectly original, perfectly extravagant. And I’m all about a life of extravagance – bite off more than you can chew, then chew it. HSM goes for the grandeur of staccato verse dropping, it’s like a Ball and rap concert–all in the same venue, same stage. Phifer goes for all of it, all the time. This is a luxury download. Expensive & cheap. It shows some of my Houston roots. Download The Homme School Monogram Album.
Album Details: HSM is maniacally inspired House music, coasting on heroic levels of dementia, pimping on top of various hip-hop beats integrated with some old-fashioned razzle-dazzle, fantasy, idiosyncratic style–credited to my “Prima Donna,” street ways–the more brash, male-empowering alter ego story is finally told. New Music: A.CHAL – “Dirty Mouth”
Underground DJ/producer A.Chal has been of mystique throughout his music career. An obscure figure far from hubris, he plays the background while letting the music speak volumes. That said, his role as a music producer has garnered high praise amongst his peers, more recently with fashion house Ralph Lauren where he’s been active as music director in past campaigns. Today, he shares with us an embodiment of all things experienced formed into one “video single” to give viewers an added effect. via source
