New York City: The view from Phifer’s apartment

The fight is the ultimate star. You got Phifer a lil too prissy; had me pent up in the Financial District counting my finances; I even smiled a few times. Had me suited up in 4 different cities like I was on tour–next venue, ATL. To: get back up in these streets…I won New York and when I see Atlanta I’ma black bag dat b*tch. Man walk with me cause I’m into long walks and reading newspapers now–gotta keep it movin. Last week I wrapped up a meeting with MTV–week before that was BET–there is nothing you can’t do when you fight for it–I guess the red represents the blood, sweat and tears. This battle is MINE MINE MINE. IT’S ALL MINE. So omit my presence at any event cause I’m busy in training. “Don’t quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.”

You want to be successful? First figure out what success is to you. You are who you hang around. Ever heard of “guilty by association?” A small detail but major consequences. One bad seed could have you in the wrong place at the wrong time. My bubble of friends is a spacious room inhabited by people whose major means of expression is creativity, whose common language is work and our goal is to race to the top. In between all the deadlines, when 7 o’clock stricks the old boring Mondays have now turned into glasses of Riesling and the rooftop at Soho House.

Maybe next time I’ll make myself pull out the camera instead of enjoying the sunset

Whenever I’m under pressure I have to get away, and no I never go off to one of those retreats. Classes are finally over and I’m making my way through this store with summer on the mind, I pass and see a white blazer. H&M in Atlanta is NOTHING like the ones in New York, but hey these are the cards that we are dealt. My first thought: no Phifer, everyone will have this. One thing about shopping at Zara and H&M is that you should always go for the items that can’t be traced back to that cheap receipt. But after I tried it on I couldn’t say no.

Summer is here which usually means less pieces being used, but I’ve always found it hard to still continue my business man look. May, June, July, August; leave the sports coat at home–no layers accepted. Toss me a pair of black shades (1 count) a white button down + tie (2, 3 count) and call it my look for the week. Simple yet effective.

Me on branding–build yourself from the bottom to the top. Start with your shoes; I chose velvet slippers. Oh no he’s a monSTAR: what have you created? Every morning when I’m in my costume room; changing from a college student to a walking brand, I tend to wanna tape myself during the transformation; shit is thrown everywhere, tossed and paired together to match my image. I’ll tie this Purple Label skinny around my neck because I’m business. But relax; I’ll be flirtatious with my hair as you can play in it. I still gotta do homework too? You see the closet–that’s how I like it; I got a his & hers sink. And who knows who’s watching but as you can see I’m not a robot.
