April 17, 2011  |  Complied and Catalogued Music, Invested Listener, Leadership & Heroic Flutes

I’ll call myself an up and coming future Boss, as I was created for commercial uses–watch how I go in. With all of this ambition I am sure last place is foreign-it inspires, so I am very cultured in many lanes. It is the complex simplicity of music that gasses me up, so I Present to you my latest compilation, Maybach Music: Phifer | Cosmetic Touches, which features my favorite-various classic opulent Rick Ross tracks, which includes: Made Men, Play Your Part, and 600 Benz.

Song catalog; 600 Benz, Made Men, Slow Down, White Sand Part 2, Waist So Skinny, Play Your Part, Sweet Life, Cigar Music, Hustlin, The Boss, Rich Off Cocaine, Push It, Maybach Music, Maybach Music Part 2 & 3. Click here to DOWNLOAD.

Toni Braxton Life & Times is a compilation compiled by myself reflecting her era from LaFace and Arista throughout the 90′s and early 2000′s. The compilation also includes a couple of new tracks. Life & Times is a solid hits package that will bring out not just die hard fans.Toni Braxton “Life & Times” Download Although she has made incredible music for nearly 15 years now, her era has been overshadowed with financial burdens from bankruptcy, and a recent fallout with her ex-manager Barry Hankerson. Yet, it is just too easy to forget how simple and beautiful her voice has remained, and why her silky-smooth style hasn’t lost its luster. Click here to DOWNLOAD.

The Phi-siognomy Chapter: StuuuPendous!

April 14, 2011  |  Complied and Catalogued Music, Invested Listener, Leadership & Heroic Flutes, The Phi-siognomy Chapter

Please be seated.

Presenting “StuuuPendous!” from our “Leadership & Heroic Flutes” Series; Maniacally inspired music, coasting on heroic levels of dementia, pimping on top of various hip-hop beats. But simply put, it’s the Hip-Hop epics that I listen to, infused with a few electronics and rock samples. Just Music for your electro spine. StuuuPendous! goes for the grandeur of staccato verse dropping. In order to get what you want you must be aggressively soft; Notorious B.I.G., one of my Favorite Rappers of All Time; known to wear the crown and sat on the throne as the King–his flare for the expensive mixed with a dark and violent past sparks a certain feminine confidence and rich way of thinking.

DOWNLOAD StuuuPendous! (Arranged & Authored by Marquis Phifer)

StuuuPendous! is a song made of a collection of Biggie verses mixed with familiar beats to inspire one to aggressively win–yet still being grandeur during the war. See, we all are in a war; war with ourselves; finding a career, battling school, confidence, family life, love life, finances. And at this point I rather marry my dreams before I sit and play house. StuuuPendous! is composed for the ones who put their dreams first, and no matter what obstables we face, we still win. And if we lose we’ll bow out gracefully. No matter what happens, at the end of the day, my glass is still filled to the rim. Click here to DOWNLOAD.

And I stay StuuuPendous!, hun.

Phioamerican January 1, 1970 (Download)

April 4, 2011  |  Complied and Catalogued Music, Invested Listener, Leadership & Heroic Flutes

[CLICK IMAGE TO DOWNLOAD] Phioamerican is a collection of oldie songs that I dig from Michael Jackson, Bee Gees, Toto, The Doobie Brothers, The Police, Hall & Oates, Chaka Khan, Blondie, Fleetwood Mac, David Bowie, and the Isley Brothers from the 70′s to late 80′s. Click here to DOWNLOAD. Everything is looo-king American!! This composed Rock theme-ensemble rightfully titled Phioamerican, is my heart compiled into one download, can you dig it!? It’s classic songs we all should have in our musical library.

See, the skinney is, I’m infatuted with this era that dates back to January 1, 1970 and concluded in the late 1980′s (the Nineteen Seventies gave you hippie culture, advocacy of world peace, and political awareness–and economic liberty of women–so keep on Truckin) Just 70′s-80′s feel good Made in America music. So good night, John-boy. Catch you on the flipside!.

Presenting “Homme School Monogram (Kanye ‘s Staccato Essay)” from our “Leadership & Heroic Flutes” Series; Maniacally inspired music, coasting on heroic levels of dementia, pimping on top of various hip-hop beats. But simply put, it’s the Hip-Hop epics that I listen to, infused with a few electronics and rock samples. Just Music for your electro spine. Homme School Monogram goes for the grandeur of staccato verse dropping, it’s like a Ball (ballroom scene) and rap concert. All in the same venue, same stage. Kanye goes for all of it, all the time.

And no, I don’t–Phifer doesn’t rap or sing. I like beautiful suits and hip hop flutes. Running my mouth I will not be accountable for what comes out. I don’t know, I might’ve said it. But I’m so biased with new music that I’ve created my own–. Everything else on the radio sounds laughably meek. These daily impromptu Twitter performances I give are often ignited by some ridiculously maximal-underground-old-mixtapes which I somehow turn into My manifesto for a downsizing world. Nobody else is compiling statements this daring and weird.

The Clipse are your favorite rappers–favorite rap duo. Clipse is a critically acclaimed Virginia-based hip hop duo formed in 1992 by brothers Malice and Pusha T. Known to spit that raw hip-hop–in a weirdo witty way–often sassy and grandeur; usual humor. Paying homage to the mixtape-underground “Group-Duo” era, I present The Clipse Spoken Theatre, titled The Clips | Phifer Cut & Sew Performance, a down-loadable experience of my favorite flagrant Clipse tracks.

The selection is far from commerical uses, some of the tracks are hidden so only the invested Clipse listers will understand. The flow features appearances from Pharrell, Drake, Missy, Faith Evans, Rosco P, Birdman, Jay-Z, and Nas.

The West Party (A Jay West Download)

March 6, 2011  |  Complied and Catalogued Music, Invested Listener

New Artist | Jay West

In true fashion, I ask that you play dress up prior to listening, this is that avant garde theme music–that real experimental music, darling. And you’re about to step into the Fantasy. I’ve been looking for someone to capture the right aesthetics of what Decadence is; a Luxury state of mind, and Jay West has arrived, just in time. As expected, I’m talking love sold dreams of luxury excess for your ear.

“I have these idealistic solutions for my realistic problems. The dreams are in the lyrics. Rhymes that I’ve dreamt up, I’ve built songs around. Daydreaming used to get me kicked out of class so to think that dreaming could pay my bills is kind of galling. I write most of my songs in that same cheeky manner. Drugs + Candy spits on the ridicule and rocks out. There’s a cause in the rebellion. Revelry! Love, Lust and The American Way”.-Jay West

The West Party (drugs & CANDY) LateBoots Edited Version DOWNLOAD here. I ask that you to take a gander for self, and then comment with a valuable opinion about the selected songs you’ve just heard. (Click to Leave Comment).

Enjoy.

Calling All Mary’s (Download)

March 3, 2011  |  Complied and Catalogued Music, Invested Listener

LateBoots serves you another downloadable experience, Calling All Mary’s; a Mary-athon of complied and catalogued music from Mary J. Blige during the 90′s–about Love, Maturity, and Adaptation while in a relationship. Now, let’s be a little transparent for a second, Mary, always kept her music Real–Love was the antagonist. Songs chronicling her inner struggles while catapulting her oriented sound; the point of hip-hop soul against a hip-hop backdrop. The affirmation and the point of arrival of the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul’s status. There are some things that will live forever–forever-ever–forever ever. And in true Phifer fashion, I pulled the best songs from the MJB Collection. Call it a Mary-athon.

Perhaps the true test of a classic is this: something that’s commonplace now but at the time appeared revolutionary. A female R&B singer could give love to the streets and the roughnecks–while still delivering soul-drenched love songs that came from that wounded womanly space–was, in a word, groundbreaking. Dance Vs. Love (Download)

February 2, 2011  |  Complied and Catalogued Music

There was a time when music told a story and taught a lesson–Classic is timeless; it’s brown liquor music and a guide to Life. And as Suffering is needed to make progress, we’re all entitled to make a mistake, or for some–mistakes. But we have to prepare for some heartbreak. LateBoots serves you it’s fourth downloadable experience, Dance Vs. Love; a battle of Velaborately-structured Dance and Love songs–the Dance side is an espy of grandiose appeal and inner grandeur expression. As the Love side adheres to the Fantasy of Falling in Love–and subsequently realizing that in order to get something you gotta go through something.

This some real advice for women. I am so happy I learned it young and listened. DOWNLOAD HERE.

Adolescent Times of Kimberly Jones

January 25, 2011  |  Complied and Catalogued Music

[Click Image to Download] Adolescent Times of Kimberly Jones

LateBoots serves you Adolescent Times of Kimberly Jones; an anthology of classic songs recorded by Lil Kim in the late 90′s.

“Uhh, wha wha–and you knew Lil Kim was on the track. Every star sounds better when they startin off, cause they more hungry and they give all they got. Hood Kim, Hollywood Kim–which ever Kim you prefer. And Lil Kim with no Biggie is like Edie with no Andy. From drug trafficing to selling platuim records surrounding graphic-sexual content. Lil Kim has lived a fasinating life.

Kim first made her debut in 1994, with the Brooklyn based group, Junior M.A.F.I.A. (“Player’s Anthem” and “Get Money”). Soon followed her own success with her debut Hardcore which still sits as Lil Kim’s classic album. And let’s not omit the fact that Kim pratically raised alot of us (knowledge of labels “No Time” track). And then Kim taught you the power of throwing shade if you don’t get paid “Crush on You”. Now, I must say that I was a fan of the 90′s–Adolescent Kim, because when she started to sing on tracks and release these far from stellar songs in the year of the 2000′s……..I don’t know but she lost me. As an invested listener of Kim’s for over a decade I have my title. And will wear it like credentials.

1996 Lil’ Kim interview with Brett Walker

I am aware that as most “rappers” progress in life–more money to be specific, their flows change. They’re no longer in that “hungry” state of mind. But the old grunting Kim (wha wha) spitting designer labels over a hard beat is what I miss. I don’t want no fluffy bubble gum spitting Kim. I want that hardcore chick back. So I compiled some of Kim’s classics.

No debate. No argument. Just old music of Kim’s. [DOWNLOAD]

The songs structures are just brilliant. I’m inspired by the 70′s and 80′s so listen to this entire catalog and try and say it’s one dimensional; I’m trying to disseminate mind blowing flows; flip some incredibly clever lines; the greatest emcees of all-time. I’m fiercely passionate about this ensemble that I’ve put together for you–the flow, the cadence, the wordplay and the baffling presence is something to behold. Face The Beats (Download)

January 12, 2011  |  Complied and Catalogued Music, Invested Listener

LateBoots serves you Face the Beats; an anthology of eulogizing vocals surrounding Vanity, Glamour and Fantasy by Prince & Diana Ross. Complied and catalogued to express one’s identity, desires and aspirations along many dimensions during an era.

I believe the music that we listen to can alter the way in which we see ourselves. And it’s no surprise that I’m pretty conscience of myself, and that’s where Prince and Diana come in hand–both known for their *cue the fans-big hair-exhale-ahhhh-now prance*. I’m not sure if I’ve ever shared my deep love and appreciation for music–I take great pleasure in the lyrical content that I subject my palette to–new music gets very little play. I think Warhol once said “as soon as it becomes commercial for a mass market it really stinks”. Great! I thought I was the only one that thought this way. There’s something about that 70′s-80′s era that fascinates me. The social awareness, clothes, the funk-sassy dialogue; Glamour puss. So to start off this new year I have procured some of my favorites and gentlemen, it’s ok to acknowledge your feminine side. There’s a female version of yourself someone out there.

To celebrate the art of all things aesthetically beautiful I’m dropping Face The Beats catalogue. I spent over 3 hours selecting all of my favorites, omitting the commerical songs–for the most part. I hope you enjoy this selection of Beauty & Sexuality. DOWNLOAD the catalogue!!
