For my next number I’d like to return to the classics. Oh how I heart a nice varsity letterman jacket–it reminds me of my semesters at Morehouse. This jock-in my-ish letterman can make an english major feel like the campus kingpin. And is that Maestro? You already Knows…

NYC based designer Brian Wood re-created this classic jacket with his infamous Kill The Count installment. Randomly The Count was my favorite character on Sesame Street–he taught me how to count my allowance lucci ($) at a very young age, I’ll forever be grateful. Not to mention his high collard cape gave me fashion. But let’s not go too deep into my childhood memoirs. Wood’s varsity letterman is an infused mix of street meets prep, it’s not your typical Highschool Musical ensemble so I would so suggest a heavy sneaker to be worn with. My nephew Richy Ross rocked it well at the Soul Train Awards in Atlanta a few weeks ago, and everyone kept asking where could they get the jacket from. I think we get pleasure in saying “you can’t”. And for the new students who may not know, we caught up with our boy Maestro, the creator of those infamous Maestro Knows Episodes. I first met him in New York at the Epiphany office, he was there to do an episode featuring Coltrane Curtis & Sky Gellatly. First thing he says to me “hey, are you Marquis who runs that blog?“. My life is a true story, I tell you no lies.
I guess this is where I’ll play the sadity sales person, this jacket is 1 of 60, which means you can’t get it. But feel free to view/shop other pieces from Brian Wood by clicking here.

that purple jacket is giving me just enough, i loveit!
