The Beauty Bar Welcomes: MOROCCANOIL Treatments

July 19, 2011  |  A Big Deal, By Appointment Only, Editor's Picks, New Product Report, Towering Intellectual Class

Shams’ Treatments: MOROCCANOIL’s moisture repair shampoo & intense hydrating mask conditioner

The luxury brand, Moroccanoil® , is the originator and leading manufacturer of professional Argan Oil hair products and the fastest growing independent company in the professional salon industry. A powerful antioxidant and UV protector, Moroccanoil’s proprietary Argan oil blend is rich in vitamins and natural elements that fortify the hair, including Vitamin F (Omega 6), Vitamin A to improve elasticity, Vitamin E to protect against free-radicals, and Phenols to shield against environmental stressors.

If that doesn’t turn you on, here’s all I know: Chambray shorts rolled up to the bottom of my seersucker pockets; the shoes are from Italy and my champu is Moroccan. Truthfully, I want this feeling to last a lifetime. A golden referral from my favorite hairstylist over at Salon Capelli. Dry hair be gone! I got that run your fingers through smooth with my skin tan and my hair long. Results come with a guarantee that’s better than the local dude. Sally’s took me under and Moroccanoil® brought me back. Now that my hair is done, why don’t we change our clothes and play badminton?

Chef’s Table: Gaulart et Maliclet Cafe – Fast and French

July 13, 2011  |  Chef's Table, Editor's Picks, Foodie, The Traveling Sky Club

Gaulart et Maliclet - Fast and French; a casual French restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Check with your server for weekly specials if you’re a newcomer. The best seat is front of house–bar style. It doesn’t differ much from the rest of the cafe’s high table communal seating, similar to diner counters but with escargot on the menu. Meals include your beverage from iced tea to french house wine. I chose the lunch special of the day: pesto pasta with goat cheese and a side of melon. My lunch date ordered the hot turkey and brie croissant. With great vegetarian plates and affordable prices, Fast and French is a local gem in the historic district of Charleston, SC.

Confession: This was my second attempt at Fast and French. The first smacked me in the face with a 20 minute wait in dreadful heat. As I left, an elderly passerby commented that it was the best spot in town, then tried her luck and placed a reservation. After Florida, I couldn’t resist giving it another try. –>Inside Story

The Traveling Sky Club Welcome: Florida Oranges

July 5, 2011  |  Creative Experience, Editor's Picks, Kodak Moment, The Traveling Sky Club, Towering Intellectual Class

Georgia’s on my mind but the humid weather forced me back to the beaches. This is the internet, so why not be mobile? Move in silence. Try to lose them if you can. They call this venting. But I never share my thoughts, this is all I know. My uncle once told me, “shake all the bushes and look under all the rugs.” Although, it is very important what not to do. And sometimes even more important what to remember to forget. I digress. Now onto my next bush. It’s no fun just to look. And then I realized adventure is the best way to learn. I repeat this daily. Even on my beach excursions. Simple leisure mixed with a few obligations. Welcome to a family affair with daily recreation and tea over ocean front views. My elders reside here where Florida begins. Clear skies, silk tops, and blue sleeves; It’s ocean drive inspired with surf dudes keeping me in the shade, totally. –>Inside Story

The Sky Club Welcome: Foodie Beach Bod Vegetable Medley

June 16, 2011  |  Chef's Table, Creative Experience, Editor's Picks, Foodie, The Traveling Sky Club

Beach bod ready with vegetable medlies? Yes. I’m not known to carry conversations in the kitchen. But after seeing André Leon Talley make ‘Regal Baroque’ cake frosting swirls with Martha Stewart, I figured I’d give it a try. Now weekly trips to the farmer’s market for fresh locally grown produce has become a reaccurring theme. In most cases, fewer Americans meet their fruit or vegetable intake. Click here to find a farmer’s market near you to get on track. Thank me later. –>Inside Story

Summer Centerfold: Human Nature SPF 50

June 13, 2011  |  Kodak Moment, The Traveling Sky Club

A dazzling summer centerfold for the young sunbather. Welcome to a climate where truth is heard and every photos are ocean glow perfecto. It’s a winner when you introduce yourself with distance and goodbyes end with hugs. “Many people are on their way to heaven, but very few are enjoying the trip.” I’m going to take my time and do it how I want. (In my most masculine voice for the boys who can’t take it.)  I’m a little selfish to have my skin glow and smell like a vacation; Could you blame me? Life is either a daring adventure or nothing. This modern nomad found a new lily pad with bags of impact. Watch me leap in a month — wanderlust. You have to show no fear. Set your parameters and stick to them. The last stretch for home base will be an instant statement.

+ New York, I had an affair to save our marriage. Tell the kids I’ll be back before snow falls. Sullivan’s Island 2.0 –>Inside Story
