It’s a known fact that I only smile when I’m happy: Wowzer! Someone page Phillip Lim 3.1 and tell him to please stay out of my head. Get into it. Phillip is ruling with a soft glove and his Fall 2011 collection has me thinking: Express yourself don’t repress yourself. Cause I’m not silent. You can’t break rules you didn’t know existed. Cause the best part of the job is getting ready for it. Enclosed in this letter there’s a picture. Snap shots of runway looks for your refrigerator.

Please realize that we all at one time or another have lusted to walk the line of History. Beverly Johnson, statement: Legend–learn it and learn it well. Johnson, unsigned at the time, went to Glamour magazine in 1971, walked into the office and was immediately hired for a shoot. The issue went on to set sales records. Johnson built on this success by appearing on the cover of Glamour five more times, and by the mid-1970s she was an in-demand magazine model.
Beverly Johnson has graced more than 500 magazine covers and made history by becoming the first black woman to appear on the cover of American Vogue and French Elle magazines in the 1970′s, which was a historical movement in time, the color barrier was broken. Johnson’s appearance on the cover changed the beauty ideal in fashion and by 1975, every major American fashion designer began using African American models.

“I see the inspiration of black women being lifted up all over when they look at me and that’s a super feeling.” -1975
Arguably the most successful African-American female model of all time,Beverly Johnson used her success as a model to launch a second career as an actress, business woman, and to became an advocate for several social issues.

This background includes more Pop Lux than college administration. It’s like my personal Opening Convocation:
Good Morning, I’m in the mood. Walking in silk garments–is that “Jesus (Hey-zus)?” Na-ah, yo no hablo español. And Excause me but these books have not been Russell Simmons approved, but I read rich therefore I dream rich. I dream expensive therefore I avoid oversleeping.
I think very deeply. So sensitive to the presence of disorder, mediocrity and injustice that I cannot sleep well at night; Keep Pressing, Progressing, Keep Moving, Keep Reading, Interceding, Keep Believing. Emotional exposure in a masculine world? The ultimate rush is found on the middle shelf right side–pull your hair back and pick up a beautiful book. Sittin in this lap with the luxury. Oh my we be sinnin. Let the words on these pages be exceptable in thy sight–I got-got-got Flav-flav-flav-flavor, so save yours, one verse–my libretti will be dropping soon.
You’ve heard the old maxim that there is nothing more powerful than an idea whose time has come.
There was a time when music told a story and taught a lesson–Classic is timeless; it’s brown liquor music and a guide to Life. And as Suffering is needed to make progress, we’re all entitled to make a mistake, or for some–mistakes. But we have to prepare for some heartbreak. LateBoots serves you it’s fourth downloadable experience, Dance Vs. Love; a battle of Velaborately-structured Dance and Love songs–the Dance side is an espy of grandiose appeal and inner grandeur expression. As the Love side adheres to the Fantasy of Falling in Love–and subsequently realizing that in order to get something you gotta go through something.
This some real advice for women. I am so happy I learned it young and listened. DOWNLOAD HERE.

Here we go… 5, 6, 7, 8 ,9, 10 I’m Off The Wall like MJ in his early days. Phifer; the muse of much top-notch entertainment, perfectly packaged into chic lifestylin and green living. I’m thinking I should start sending out Hallmark Cards saying “Come Out and Play With Phifer“…I play Chess no checkers. Friday night’s I can occasionally be found with Zenobia Morrow at the W Hotel sitting at a table looking back at you-peek-a-boo. Whiskey Park is the hot spot that can be summed up with two words–sexy sophistication. This isn’t your average spot for a night out on the town. Located in the luxurious W Hotel Atlanta-Midtown, this glamorous bar and lounge is where the young professionals go to see and be seen. Whiskey Park has contemporary style and trendy flair that creates an ideal ambiance for sipping cocktails in your most fashionable ensemble.
I think my favorite thing about Whiskey Park is the long, dramatic walk you have to take to find your way inside… through the lobby, up several sets of stairs overlooking the Living Room, pass the bar at Spice Market, and then finally up another staircase that feels almost like a cat walk. Zenobia and I spent most of our time on the patio, it’s a very nice outside lounge. Tonight’s entertainment included a cameo by Jason Jeter, the CEO of Grand Hustle. And a few members of the Hollyweerd group.
Aside from our animated and “blogger”daytime lives, Sham and I seem to have more of an electrifying pulse during the nocturnal hours. For us here at LateBoots we are always pleased and thrilled when we are asked to host innermost events that are aligned with our brand and artictically inclinded viewers alike. We spent countless hours thinking of how we could incorporate our bevy of followers–who support us, with the rip-roaring and spine-tingling events that we spasmodically host and attend. In the times of yore we’ve hosted events at the exclusive private members’ only club Soho House, the Rivington Hotel, and just latterly the W Hotel.
Whether it’s New York or Atlanta, what better way to merge the very people who support us with our intoxicating night life by launching a new incentive called Inside Socializing‘, which is a diminutive list of people that will inherit weekly-monthly guides composed of our favorite restaurants, workshops, plays to attend, museum exhibits, sample sales, events, and RSVP information of the events Sham and I will be hosting for that following week or month.–What better way to house a network of young-infectious and proactive individuals where we can gather and foster connectivity and collaboration in a merry environment.

“I thought I could shoot people on the street the way designers looked at people, and get and give inspiration to lots of people in the process. My only strategy when I began The Sartorialist was to try and shoot style in a way that I knew most designers hunted for inspiration.”-Schumann

At Home with The Phifer’s coming soon…I swear my home life is much more entertaining! And as the seasoned vets say to me “keep doing your thang kid you killin them!!“–Tryna eat, we aint finna wait / where’s the dinner plates? I am a Platonic subordinate deity who fashions the sensible world in the light of eternal ideas; my demiurgic is straight like 9:15am– cause that’s when you’ll find me online shopping–drinking Bailey’s. Or sippin espresso, and now I’m on my I used to wear Ralph Lauren but now every ______ got it. Right back at you, so now I’m turing to the past–all things old; vintage. I prefer 70′s, 80′s and 90′s style and also the monogram game in which started back then.
Fendi Zucca Print Jacket, Gucci Clutch, Ralph Lauren Tie, MCM Visetos Wristlet, Gucci Web Shoulder Bag
All pieces are sold exclusively at D.Fame Vintage Boutique. And I’ve been shopping with D.Fame for about two years now–I wanted to keep her hidden but I can’t hoard it all. I’ve copped some 90′s Versace shades, a Chanel scarf, YSL tie, Gucci portfolio and my new Fendi Zucca jacket.

[Click Image to Download] Adolescent Times of Kimberly Jones
LateBoots serves you Adolescent Times of Kimberly Jones; an anthology of classic songs recorded by Lil Kim in the late 90′s.
“Uhh, wha wha–and you knew Lil Kim was on the track. Every star sounds better when they startin off, cause they more hungry and they give all they got. Hood Kim, Hollywood Kim–which ever Kim you prefer. And Lil Kim with no Biggie is like Edie with no Andy. From drug trafficing to selling platuim records surrounding graphic-sexual content. Lil Kim has lived a fasinating life.
Kim first made her debut in 1994, with the Brooklyn based group, Junior M.A.F.I.A. (“Player’s Anthem” and “Get Money”). Soon followed her own success with her debut Hardcore which still sits as Lil Kim’s classic album. And let’s not omit the fact that Kim pratically raised alot of us (knowledge of labels “No Time” track). And then Kim taught you the power of throwing shade if you don’t get paid “Crush on You”. Now, I must say that I was a fan of the 90′s–Adolescent Kim, because when she started to sing on tracks and release these far from stellar songs in the year of the 2000′s……..I don’t know but she lost me. As an invested listener of Kim’s for over a decade I have my title. And will wear it like credentials.
1996 Lil’ Kim interview with Brett Walker
I am aware that as most “rappers” progress in life–more money to be specific, their flows change. They’re no longer in that “hungry” state of mind. But the old grunting Kim (wha wha) spitting designer labels over a hard beat is what I miss. I don’t want no fluffy bubble gum spitting Kim. I want that hardcore chick back. So I compiled some of Kim’s classics.
No debate. No argument. Just old music of Kim’s. [DOWNLOAD]
